in the animal cell there is the cytoskeleton, vacuole, plasma membrane, cillia, flagella, centrioles, nucleus, mitochondria, ribosomes, cytoplasm, lysosome, golgi apparatus, rough/smooth ER. cytoskelton is made up of microtubules, actin filaments, and intermediate filaments. vacuole is a space or vesicle within the cytoplasm of a cell, enclosed by a membrane and typically containing fluid. plasma membrane is a microscopic membrane of lipids and proteins that forms the external boundary of the cytoplasm of a cell or encloses a vacuole, and that regulates the passage of molecules in and out of the cytoplasm. cillia are thick protuberances that project from the much larger cell body. flagella is a microscopic whiplike appendage that enables many protozoa, bacteria, spermatozoa, etc., to swim. centrioles are organelles near the nucleus in animal cells, occurring in pairs and involved in the development of spindle fibers in cell division. nucleus is the central and most important part of an object, movement, or group, forming the basis for its activity and growth. the role of the mitochondria are to produce the energy currency of the cell. ribosomes is a minute particle consisting of RNA and associated proteins, found in large numbers in the cytoplasm of living cells. cytoplasm is the material or protoplasm within a living cell, excluding the nucleus. lysosome is an organelle in the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells containing degradative enzymes enclosed in a membrane. golgi appartus is a complex of vesicles and folded membranes within the cytoplasm of most eukaryotic cells, involved in secretion and intracellular transport. endoplasmic retitculum is a membrane system of folded sacs and interconnected channels that serves as a site for protein and lipid synthesis. rough ER is cellular organelles are like tiny organs found in a cell that perform specific functions like the large organs in our bodies. smooth ER is the synthesis of carbohydrates, lipids, and steroid hormones; detoxification of medications and poisons; and storage of calcium ions. these are the organelles that make up animal cells.
